Neurospicy Art: Week 26
Even though NSA is officially only a couple of months old, I actually started working on it on the 9th of June – the day after my 40th birthday.
Which means that we are actually at the 6 month mark and we are 26 weeks deep already.
This week was relatively productive and successful.
· I filmed and edited a vlog
· Made some social tiles
· Wrote some copy
· Scheduled some posts
· Did some research
· Emails
· Created some new pieces of art for another project
· Completely revamped the homepage, added testimonials, new images for the art works, looked into some analytics etc
· Engaged with people on Instagram each day
· Created a new product page template
I’m sure there were countless other small tasks as well, but these were the main ones.
Outcomes/Lessons
· I’ve decided that I can’t do weekly vlogs, and it may actually be easier for me to do it daily (watch this space)
· Realised that at this stage of a business/project there are going to be some tasks that are stupid and time consuming, but I just have to do them. There’s no one to pass them on to, and the reality is that it does take me away from more important income-generating work, but unfortunately this backend stuff still needs to get done. The specific example this week was having to re-name 988 files, which took me well over an hour to do. When I only have 1-2 hours a day to work on this project, that is a significant drain on my time.
· The importance of self-care and rest.
MVPs for this week:
· Perplexity AI - for writing custom CSS for me one minute and then researching papers in Neuron for me the next. Thanks bruh.
· Buffer – the only way I can mentally cope with the agony of posting on Instagram everyday.
· Basecamp – for helping me organise everything I need to for this project. I still haven’t maxxed out the functionality, but even the little I have used it for has freed up some much needed mental space for me.
Next week looks much the same for me as this week:
· Write copy
· Schedule new social media posts
· Edit some more photos
· Vlog
· Build new product pages
Stay Classy ✌🏻
